To Flatten the Curve

We've paired up with multiple Southern California grassroots volunteer groups  to get masks and face shields to health care workers and essential employees.  Each group specializes in masks, face shields, or other protective gear for Medical & Essential Workers. Some have a ready to go pattern/s or design/s you can follow and all have avenues to get that gear directly to the people who need it most.

CDC, Crisis Capacity Strategies Section

In settings where facemasks are not available, HCP might use homemade masks (e.g. bandana, scarf) for care of patients with COVID-19 as a last resort. However, homemade masks are not considered PPE, since their capability to protect HCP is unknown. Homemade masks should ideally be used in combination with a face shield that covers the entire front (that extends to chin or below) and sides of the face.
